after having arrived in Can Tho at night, we started the next day at 5am to head out to the floating markets on the river in a little fisher boat. Amazing stuff and great 6 hours!
one of our coolest stops - a village a bit outside the temple area, where we chilled with our tuc tuc driver, eating our first cold cambodian noodles, lying in hammocks (they are aaaalll over here, and under the houses on stilts), and wathing the local kids
yummy watermelons, which they peel and then give you to eat
We flew in to Siem Reap (after another short night in Singapore), and checked out Angkor for 2 days. Call us crazy, but we didn't think they were thaaaaat great... The ones we liked most were the ones where nature is taking over the temples again with huge trees growing into the stone.
After only a few but very very cool days in Lombok, we headed back to Bali
... And because our flight left on Saturday rather than Thursday, we treated ourselves to some more nights in the Conrad, where they were friendly enough to put us in the suites - good food, great cocktails, and lots of time to heal those muscles at the pool
At the German couple Toni and Roland's guest house Rinjani Mountain Garden, we found a little paradise on earth... Looking over jungle and mountains on one side, and up the Rinjano on the other, it was perfect to prepare for the hike and especially to relax after it!
Mattes is their natural pool
This is where we all ate dinner together overlooking the bay - great food from Toni!
