Vulcanoes in Olot

Back home in Barcelona, we still had the car for one more day so we decided to explore Barcelona´s north. Mainly, we saw the natural reserve of Montseny and hiked through the "shire" like countryside of Olot´s vulcanic region. In the pic you see one of the vulcanoe´s crater!!

La Rioja

A plan - some say its a list of things that wont happen!! After we left Galicia earlier than expected.. we decided to hit some wineries in La Rioja by bike... however, weather constraints and lack of a winery by bicycle culture killed that plan. Well, we still got some nice red wine and found a lovely host at Darien winery who just kept drinking with us, even the winery´s best wines, which we openly couldnt afford. Nice..

La Costa

Playa de las catedrals

Coast of Galicia (cabo ortegal)

The trip went on faste than palnned due to bad weather. So we made it already to the stunning coast of Galicia, with some 600m cliffs going steep into the ocean. We slept at the feet of spectacular lghthouse at Cabo Ortegal, above the ocean and with a theoretical view over Carinos bay.

Snow to Swim -

From the picos de Europa it takes only 40 minutes to get back to the atlantic coast - home of some of Spains nices beaches!! We really loved Asturias for its nature and free highways!! Also, we met up with Ammar and Alejandro for one more day.... beaches are between Llanes and Ribadella..

Garganta de cares

Probablz one of the highlights of the whole trip - La graganta de cares... one of Europes finest gorge. 8h walk along the river Cares that - over the years - has carved its way deep into the mountains. Spectecular views and unbelievable luck with the weather made this day unforgettable...
